ReMaTek and ATE Fixturing & Design, two well established Montreal test fixture suppliers, have agreed to join forces. The partnership will allow the sharing of technology and process, and benefit from economies of scale. The new, bigger company will provide their common customer base with an enlarged suite of products and services.

ReMaTek has built a strong reputation in the fabrication of large and complex in-circuit test fixtures, while ATE Fixturing & Design is well known for its ability to manufacture functional test fixtures and test equipment as well as small to medium sized in-circuit fixtures. "The two companies fit perfectly. Each group is strong in a different field. This is a real win-win scenario" says Marco Deblois, v.p. quality and research. The new entity will leverage ATE’s 3D design capabilities as a basis for future developments in test fixture technology.

The merged company has capabilities that far exceed most test fixture vendors. "Through ATE’s sister company Proto Concept, we provide precision part machining and fabrication. We now have 4 high speed NC Vertical milling centers and 2 NC lathes. Our mission is to offer customers a full range of capabilities to ensure that whether they are testing a printed circuit board, a fully assembled unit, or require specialized part fabrication, we are a reliable, flexible partner” says Dan Gallant, v.p. sales and marketing.

The new ReMaTek-ATE adds management depth and additional production capacity to increase business development in Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Asia. The new management team formed by Marco Deblois, Rene Melancon, Dan Gallant and Michael Lister will focus respectively on quality and research, finance, sales and marketing, and production.

The company maintains a quality management system in conformity with the ISO 9001:2000 and is also registered under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
